Private / Unlisted: Dailymotion calls its link-only visibility setting Private. Anyone with the private link can watch, and the video can be embedded using its private video ID.
Password-protected: Viewers must enter a password, including in an embedded player. This is unsuitable for uninterrupted channel playback.
Required settings for Private (Unlisted) videos
Visibility: In Dailymotion Studio, set the video’s visibility to Private.
Correct video link: Copy the complete private sharing link supplied by Dailymotion. Private embeds must use the private video ID, rather than the ordinary public video ID.
Embedding: Ensure embedding is enabled. Any domain, app, or geographic restrictions must permit the intended playback location.
Test on Strimm: Open the private sharing link or test your channel with it in a private/incognito window. If Strimm rejects the link or playback fails, contact Strimm Support to check private-ID handling.
Important: Anyone with the private link can share it. Adding a private video to a playlist can also make it visible and playable within that playlist.
